Michigan Supreme Court says "No" to Changing Election Observer Rules

Michigan’s Supreme Court has delivered a blow to election deniers and their ilk.

The Justices yesterday ‘zapped’, (legally suspended), a lower court order to change the rules for folks monitoring polling places and absentee ballot counting rooms as observers.

State election officials, headed by Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, worried the late changes to election observer rules would cause confusion and chaos at polling places and in rooms where votes are counted.

Republicans and other groups who claim the 2020 election was fraudulent wanted the rule changes.

Michigan’s former director of elections, Chris Thomas, worried that the proposed changes might have made it easier to intimidate poll workers.
