Faith Fellowship Baptist Church

September 24, 2018

Dr. Stanley Parker has been the Pastor at Faith Fellowship for eighteen years. He feels the need to be very connected with the community surrounding his church. For the past ten years, Faith Fellowship has hosted the Eastside Community Action Center with an afterschool program for the neighborhood children Mon-Thurs from 3:30 p.m.-6: 30 p.m. When the Lansing School District turned Wednesdays to late start Pastor Stan bridged the gap for the children in the neighborhood by allowing them to come to church on Wednesdays mornings from 8a.m.-10a.m. In Lansing, MI about 29.5% of our population lives in poverty, this also compelled Reverend Parker to bridge the gap by opening a food bank inside his church. Food is distributed every Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30p.m.-3: 30 p.m. The food bank operates by appointment only, so if you know someone who is in need they should call a day in advance for food assistance (517) 853-0414. Faith Fellowship Baptist Church also has a clothing closet for people that are in is the need, this church is diligent about meeting the surrounding community needs. Pastor Dr. Stanley Parker has also hosted Praise at the Park for seventeen years. His personality is cogent and he speaks with such loquacity, that over the years he has been able to get very influential people and organizations to endorse Praise at the Park. This annual event is gregarious. This year the gospel group Spoken praise started the entertainment. Vibrant Flow provided us with her sol-harmony, she's a positive poet. Praise at the Park also had plenty of vendors Theta Rho Zeta provided health information along with performing blood pressure checks, the NAACP registered voters, DHS & Triad provided information on foster care, W.I.C supplied information regarding healthy eating for children, and the Black Women's Wellness Project shared adequate information pertaining to the health of black women. This allowed adults to have fun, but adults can't have fun unless children are occupied. Pastor Dr. Stanley Parker had a bounce house for the children, and he did Wendy gift certificate raffles from beginning to the end of Praise at the Park. He provided the adults with so much information that he felt the need to also raffle off a girl and boy brand new bicycle. With all the entertainment and information twenty-two children and two adults got saved. This type of positive commotion can cause you to work up an appetite hot-dog, chips, pop, and bottled water was provided. Dr. Pastor Stanley Parker also realizes that there are other needs to be met in third world countries, this why he travels to them at least twice a year. He not only preaches the word of God to the less fortunate in third world countries, but he helps with food water and various unlivable conditions. Dr. Pastor Stanley is wise enough to know that all of his great works would be impossible without God and his better half First Lady Charlotte Parker. If there is someone who is need of a loving, devoted church home, be sure to tell them that they can find it in Faith Fellowship Baptist church at 1001 Dakin Street, Lansing, MI 48912.
