What: General Election Begins in Lansing as Thousands of Absentee Ballots are Prepped to be Mailed on September 28th

Details: Almost 7,000 absentee ballots are being prepared to be mailed on Friday, September 28th, for the General Election in the City of Lansing. A crew of election workers will be spending two days preparing the first batch of ballots to be mailed and processing absentee applications.
Thousands more ballots will be mailed over the coming weeks as absentee ballot applications are received. City of Lansing Voters can also come to the City Clerk’s office in person to receive an absentee ballot.
Starting October 8th, Lansing voters may also go to the South Washington Office Complex at 2500 S. Washington Ave. to complete an absentee ballot application and receive a ballot.
Voters can download the form to request an absentee ballot, check on the status of their absentee applications, and find non-partisan information about the General Election at lansingmi.gov/elections or by calling the Lansing City Clerk’s Office at (517) 483-4131.
Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope encourages voters to take advantage of absentee voting, if eligible; and when possible, to vote in their respective precincts at non-peak voting times between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
