The Countdown to the 2020 Census will soon be starting. You will start receiving info and reminders to be on the look out...By April 2020, most all households should be receiving an invitation to participate in the census in the mail. Each household will have one of three options for you to choose how to respond to the Census questionnaire. Your options to participate can be:
1) online; or
2) by phone; or
3) by mail.
The Chronicle newspaper will be helping to mark the upcoming April 1, 2020 -- Census Day 2020, by providing you with various news on locally sponsored event updates from around the Lansing Michigan area and send out informative links, ads, and alerts throughout this year and leading right up to the actual start date of the Census 2020.
Just a quick note: The U.S. Census Bureau anticipates that approximately 45% of residents in the United States will be responding digitally online. If you need an internet connection or would like to learn how to use a computer or get online safety skills, you can check with your local capital area libraries or Closing The Digital Gap (CTDG) 501c3 nonprofit for dates and times of any upcoming technology training in computers, technology and on how to use the internet during 2019 and 2020.
