Poll: Americans say more should be done to combat climate change

Despite a new law signed in August committing the country to its biggest investment ever to confront global warming, a new poll finds most Americans don’t know much about it. And further, most folks don’t think the government is doing enough to fight climate change.

A poll just released by the Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, found that 61% of Americans are unfamiliar with the record US commitment to combating climate change.

The measure provides more than $370 billion to expand the use of clean energy alternatives like wind and solar power which don’t cause the climate damage that oil, natural gas, or coal do.
