Yanice Y. Jackson-MBA, CSSGB

Publisher

Publisher Yanice deems herself a quick study, who is a student of life. She has distinguished herself in business and community-based pursuits. Her career was founded upon a diverse formal education, coupled with hands-on experience.

Yanice obtained her Master of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University and her Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication/Film from Eastern Michigan University. She classifies herself as an eternal student, who allows life experiences to be her teacher. Offering herself as a bridge to connect people with vital information and resources is a driving force for her. In her free time, Yanice enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.

Kristen V. Hanna 

Digital Content Manager

Kristen Freeman is a woman, a wife, a mother and a writer. She  joined The Chronicle Team as a columnist centering Black Motherhood in her column “The Mother”. With nearly a decade of experience, she now adds to the team as a digital and social media coordinator. A broadcast journalism graduate, Kristen has a passion for community events and news. She has utilized her writing and digital skills both nationally and internationally. She has experience consulting with private businesses and public organizations throughout Texas. She also aided in content creation for one of the most well-visited wellness retreat centers in North Africa Om Yoga Studio. in 2015, she worked on a production team in London, creating a community news television series entitled My Brilliant Moment sponsored by BBC. She has a passion for people and storytelling. She is so excited to serve The Chronicle’s community in Greater Lansing and beyond. Freeman said, “I am looking forward to serving my community and finding fun, creative ways to make an impact. Domonick Dixie is from Indiana and is a father to two wonderful children.  His background is in sales, merchandising, marketing and project management. He loves the outdoors and spending time with close family and friends. His favorite scripture is Galatians 6:9-10.

Micaela R. Smith

Digital Content/Social Media Marketing Apprentice

Micaela R. Smith is from Lansing, MI currently residing in the DMV area. She’s a digital creator focusing on visual storytelling, branding representation, and social media advertising. Micaela enjoys connecting with people through her vegan lifestyle, travel, brunch outing, and fitness journey. She believes that sharing is caring. Her hope is to be a resource to the Chronicle community by writing about healthy eating options, workout routines, traveling ventures, and self-care. Micaela lives by a few mottos: 1. We are only here for a short time. So we have to make every second, minute, and hour of the day count. 2. Things don’t happen to you. They happen for you! 3. This world is a blank canvas, so go create the life you want! #YOLO

Charity Michelle Treat

Digital Content/Social Media Marketing Apprentice

Charity is from Ohio and has a background in finance, sales, and content creation. She is currently working in marketing and content creation, and enjoys spending time with her two dogs and her fiancé. In her time at The Chronicle she hopes to assist with digital content creation, website design, email marketing, and social media. In her free time she enjoys running, creating Youtube videos, and traveling the world.
