The so-called “wild man of rock n roll,” Jerry Lee Lewis, died in his home today in north Mississippi near Memphis.
In 1957, he produced two of the most outrageous hits of rock’s first decade – “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lota Shakin’ Going On.”
Known as “the killer,” Lewis was nearly as wild in his private life as he was onstage. He didn’t just play the piano, he attacked it.
Jerry Lee Lewis was 87.
