According to the American Heart Association (AHA), regular family dinners can help to reduce stress in your household.

Of 1,000 adults nationwide surveyed last month, 91% of them said their family was less stressed when they shared meals together.

84% say they wish they could share a meal more often with loved ones.

This survey was commissioned by the AHA. The association researches chronic stress because it can increase rates for all manner of heart diseases.

“Sharing meals with others is a great way to reduce stress, boost self-esteem and improve social connection, particularly for kids,” says Dr. Erin Michos, a Heart Association volunteer from Johns Hopkins medical school.
