“Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor.” For the men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., it is more than a motto, it is a mandate. A standard. A calling to lead, serve, and build across every space they occupy.

That mandate was on full display at the 94th Northern Province Council in Lansing, Michigan, a gathering that was not simply a meeting, but a convergence of leadership, strategy, and purpose.
And at the center of it all stands Gregory S. Thomas, a leader who is not just continuing the work, but refining and restructuring it for the future.
Connecting the D.O.T.T.S.
Driving Outstanding Transformation through Service is more than an initiative; it is a commitment to embodying the true spirit of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Through intentional service, we strengthen the bonds between Undergraduate Chapters, Alumni Chapters, Senior Kappas, Kappa League, families, and the broader community.
Each act of service connects one brother to another, one generation to the next, advancing the good of the Fraternity. As we continue to lead, mentor, and serve, we exemplify that the true measure of leadership is found not in titles or recognition, but in the lives we uplift and the unity we sustain through service.
From structured business meetings and leadership forums to community initiatives like partnerships with the Greater Lansing Food Bank, the council operates as both a governance body and a community engine.
This is where direction is set. And what happens here doesn’t stay in the room. It flows outward, into chapters, cities, and the communities they serve.

A Leader Engineering More Than Momentum
Gregory S. Thomas the 26th Northern Province Polemarch, Thomas is not simply leading, he is engineering an ecosystem of accountability, growth, and sustained impact. And the results are already visible.
Sold-out sessions. Overflow crowds. Lines at the door.
Built on Foundation, Driven by Precision
Thomas’s leadership is grounded in both education and execution. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with an MBA from Clark Atlanta University, his journey reflects both analytical rigor and cultural grounding. Professionally, his experience spans:
• Coca-Cola
• Union Pacific Railroad
• Corning Incorporated, where he now serves as an Emerging Innovations Group Manufacturing Strategist
This is a leader trained in environments where systems matter, details matter, and results matter. And that mindset is now shaping the Northern Province.
Growth That Is Designed to Last
In just six months, conference attendance has doubled from approximately 150 to 300 participants with a clear path toward 500.
But numbers alone don’t tell the story. The real story is infrastructure. Under Thomas’s leadership:
• Accountability structures have been reinforced
• Leadership development pipelines are expanding
• Multi-layer review systems ensure consistency and excellence
This is not growth fueled by excitement.
This is growth fueled by design.
Developing Young Men with Intention
At its core, the Northern Province’s impact is measured not just in attendance, but in transformation. Through Guide Right and the Kappa Leadership Development League, young men are being prepared for life beyond the classroom. They are taught:
• Discipline
• Leadership presence
• Professional etiquette
• Academic accountability
And the outcomes speak clearly:
• 90% attend college
• 80% graduate within six years
Nearly $10,000 in scholarships has been distributed, directly addressing real-life needs, books, transportation, and housing. This is not mentorship for appearance.
This is investment for outcome.
Service That Reaches Beyond the Organization
The impact of the Northern Province extends far beyond its membership. With a $60,000 fundraising goal for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, already one-third achieved early in the year the organization continues to demonstrate a long-standing commitment to service
As one of the largest Black contributors to St. Jude, Kappa Alpha Psi’s work reflects a broader mission: to serve communities with both consistency and intention. Under Thomas’s leadership, that mission is not just continuing. It is accelerating.
Brotherhood Built to Endure
What distinguishes this moment in the Northern Province is its clarity of purpose: Legacy requires systems. Through initiatives like:
• Emerging Leaders in Kappa (ELOC)
• Strengthened mentorship pipelines
• Expanded accessibility across generations
The organization is ensuring that engagement does not fade, it evolves. Because brotherhood, when structured correctly, does more than connect. It sustains.
The Chronicle Perspective
The 94th Northern Province Council was not just a successful event. It was a signal. A signal that leadership, when paired with discipline and vision, produces more than momentum. It produces movement.
What Gregory S. Thomas is leading is not simply organizational growth. It is a blueprint for modern leadership:
• Rooted in culture
• Driven by structure
• Measured by impact
And in a time where visibility is often mistaken for effectiveness, this moment offers something far more enduring: substance-the kind that builds quietly, scales intentionally and over time, becomes the standard.
