Saying "Goodbye" to Bishop Maxwell

There will be two formal celebrations of the life of Bishop David Maxwell to be held in Lansing later this week. The longtime local religious leader, who once served as the city of Lansing's Director of Faith-Based Initiatives, died on December 1st at the age of 66.

On Thursday night, Dec. 8, there will be a service at Eliezer Temple Church at 3637 W. Jolly Road from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Then on Friday, December 9th, the final "homegoing" service for Maxwell will take place at 10 am. The location hasn't been finalized, yet. When it is announced, The Chronicle News will publish the information for you.
