"Over the last 10 years, the festival has showcased 76 Michigan-born and based bands, bringing the riverfront to life with unforgettable music. The Dam Jam has not only transformed the way Lansing experiences live music, but it has also demonstrated the City’s incredible potential as a vibrant hub for public spaces and cultural events.”
For Lansing 5:01 CEO Samantha Harkins, there’s a clear connection between events like Dam Jam and the organization’s talent attraction strategy."Festivals like Dam Jam allow us to showcase exciting things happening in Lansing, and how we can transform unique spaces in our community to feature incredible artists from both the Lansing region and across the state,” said Harkins. “While we can’t host this year’s festival at the new Fish Ladder Music Park, we're more excited that Lansing is getting such an incredible new performance venue. The Community Foundation and City of Lansing have put a phenomenal amount of effort into upgrading the space, and once the venue is completed, we have every intention of bringing the Dam Jam back to the Fish Ladder next year.”
