Emerson Green and King Episode 3

Emerson Green + King is not just a comic strip. It’s a mirror. Created by Indianapolis -based filmmaker, educator, and storyteller Al Smith of Purpix Media.

Emerson Green blends humor, social commentary, and quiet truth into scenes that feel familiar because they are. Set in everyday neighborhoods, the strip uses warmth and wit to explore how spectacle, judgment, and public ridicule often land hardest on those already carrying enough.

This featured installment takes aim at viral mockery culture, asking an uncomfortable but necessary question: when we laugh at exaggerated caricatures, who else gets caught in the crossfire? Through simple dialogue and expressive visuals, Smith highlights the unseen people affected when faith, leadership, and survival are turned into punchlines.

What makes Emerson Green + King resonate is restraint. It does not preach. It does not shout. It simply tells the truth and trusts the reader to sit with it.

Developed using modern digital illustration tools and refined through Smith’s cinematic eye, the comic reflects his larger mission at Purpix Media: using creative storytelling to spark reflection, empathy, and conversation.

Sometimes art entertains.

Sometimes it teaches.

And sometimes, it quietly tells you to be more careful with your laughter.
