L-Town Jubilee, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to uplifting Lansing’s homeless population, invites Capital area families and organizations to mark their calendars for the 9th annual When September Ends on September 27th from 2 - 10 PM. Held at The Fledge, a community center known for its “radically inclusive” principles, this performing arts showcase and marketplace features a diverse array of live music alongside vendors, food trucks, and kid-friendly activities.

In accordance with their mission, Jubilee encourages families of all economic status, especially those with ties to homelessness, to attend When September Ends and mingle with local creatives, entrepreneurs, activists, and community leaders. Since the event’s inception, an outdoor street stage has been graced with performances ranging from country to hip-hop, alongside talks by and for those who have lived through homelessness. Plus, Jubilee clients are given vouchers and financial assistance to purchase items from the artisans and vendors lining Eureka street throughout the afternoon. During a previous iteration of the event, Jubilee founder Erica Munchbach addresses attending families: "When a whole community shows up—not just with resources, but with joy, music, and shared space—it sends a powerful message: that no one is invisible, and that ending homelessness is something we can celebrate together."

When September Ends is made possible with the support and involvement of community leaders. We invite Greater Lansing businesses, start-ups, and organizations to support this equity-driven event by committing to a sponsorship package. In return for their generosity, sponsors receive promotional benefits, including the opportunity to speak to attendees during the event. To get involved with the event’s programming and community marketplace, local musicians and vendors are welcome to contact Jubilee at events@ltownjubilee.org.

Jubilee is a network that connects disadvantaged community members in the Greater Lansing Area with effective support and transformative opportunities. Most of the individuals supported by Jubilee are exiting homelessness, have a history of homelessness, or have risk factors for chronic homelessness. Jubilee is the only organization in Lansing primarily focused on building a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) program. Permanent Supportive Housing is a research-backed, data-driven, gold standard service model that effectively ends homelessness for a household, and a community at large. Contact Jubilee to learn more about PSH and their EndHomelessness Campaign, and read their most recent Mission Report to learn more.
