For more than two decades, Rhonda Stokes has been helping women rediscover the beauty and strength of their natural crown.

As the owner of Rhonda’s Reflections Salon in Lansing, Michigan, Rhonda opened her doors in 1999 with a passion that began long before she ever held the title of business owner. Hair was never just a profession for her, it was a calling.

From the start of her journey in the beauty industry, Rhonda knew she loved doing hair. But over time, that love deepened into something even more meaningful: a commitment to healthy hair care and educating women about the power and potential of their natural hair.

Through years of experience behind the chair, Rhonda has witnessed how hair can influence confidence, identity, and self-expression. That realization pushed her to focus not only on styling but also on the health and strength of the hair itself.

Her philosophy is simple but powerful.

Black hair deserves care, respect, and knowledge.

Rhonda’s work centers on helping women understand that their hair is capable of length, health, and beauty just like any other hair type when treated properly. For many clients, a visit to Rhonda’s Reflections is more than a salon appointment, it is a moment of restoration, education, and empowerment.

She hopes the impact of her work reaches beyond the salon chair. Rhonda wants women in the community to know that their hair is already beautiful. With the right care, patience, and understanding, it can flourish.

For the next generation of women entering the beauty industry, Rhonda offers advice that blends creativity with business wisdom. Success, she says, requires more than talent.

Develop a strong brand.

Understand your market.

Learn how to use technology to engage with customers.

Build networks with other leaders in the industry.

And perhaps most importantly, she encourages entrepreneurs to think about long-term financial health.

Create multiple streams of income and start investing early. If you are self-employed, she advises opening a Roth IRA and contributing regularly from the beginning so that your future is protected as you build your business.

Her message is clear: talent may open the door, but strategy builds longevity.

After more than 25 years in business, Rhonda continues to prove that dedication, knowledge, and purpose can turn a passion into a lasting legacy.

Her motto says it best.

“Black Hair Matters at Rhonda’s Reflections.”
