The Chronicle’s Guidelines for Media Sponsorships • Community Partnerships • Press Releases

The Chronicle News has proudly supported community organizations, nonprofits, businesses, authors, festivals, programs and special events throughout Michigan for many years. Supporting the communities we serve is part of who we are, and that will not change.

As The Chronicle continues to grow, we are becoming more intentional about how we structure news coverage, advertising, promotional services and media partnerships.

Editorial and Earned Coverage

The Chronicle welcomes press releases, news tips, community announcements, story ideas and interview opportunities. There is no charge to submit news for editorial consideration, and payment is never required for legitimate news coverage.

Submission does not guarantee publication or coverage. The Chronicle maintains editorial control over story selection, editing, headlines, presentation and publication schedules.

Have news? Send it. We welcome it.

Advertising

Businesses and organizations may purchase print, digital, social media, radio and other advertising opportunities through The Chronicle. Advertising guarantees the agreed-upon promotional placement, not influence over The Chronicle’s independent editorial decisions.

Sponsored Content and Promotional Features

The Chronicle offers paid promotional opportunities for businesses, authors, entrepreneurs, organizations and others who want guaranteed exposure. Packages may include feature content, interviews, print and digital exposure, social media promotion and radio promotion.

Sponsored or promotional content will be identified when appropriate. Clients may request corrections to factual inaccuracies, while The Chronicle maintains control over formatting, presentation and editorial style.

Media Sponsorships and Community Partnerships

Media sponsorship is a partnership. When The Chronicle provides complimentary or discounted advertising, social media promotion, radio promotion, interviews, event promotion or other media services, The Chronicle should be formally recognized as a media sponsor or community media partner.

Our audience, platforms, staff time, print space, digital reach and paid broadcast airtime have value. In return for media sponsorship, appropriate recognition should be provided through applicable event materials, websites, social media, signage and sponsor acknowledgments.

Organizations requesting a media partnership should tell us what support they are requesting and what recognition or partnership benefits are being offered in return. Complimentary promotion is not guaranteed, and services beyond an agreed-upon partnership may be purchased separately. Community partnership should work both ways.

How to Request a Media Partnership

Please provide:

  • Organization and primary contact

  • Event, program or campaign information

  • Date, time and location, when applicable

  • Promotional support requested from The Chronicle

  • Sponsor recognition or partnership benefits offered to The Chronicle

Please submit requests with adequate lead time. Media partnerships are reviewed individually and are not guaranteed.
