Brandon Wilson Henderson, known to the world—and to Lansing—as DJ Crazy Caz, has passed on to the other side. But here, in the city he loved, mentored, and moved to his rhythm, his name will never fade.

Caz wasn’t just behind the turntables. He was the soul of the sound, the laugh in the crowd, the quiet check-in on a hard day, the one who showed up when no one else did. From his early beginnings interning at WXLA AM 1180, to headlining parties across Michigan—and even DJing across the globe in Sydney, Australia—Caz was never just a DJ. He was a movement. And this city? We felt it. We still feel it.

His passing on April 10, 2025, at just 55 years old, came after a battle with prolonged health complications in Phoenix, Arizona. But even in his final year, Caz was still Caz—sending texts to friends, cracking jokes, checking on others from his hospital bed, and reminding the world that he was still here.
🎧 The Final Set: A Celebration of Life

Tees bearing his name will be distributed, and the afternoon will include a reading of his obituary and a moment of silence at 3:30 PM, allowing us all to pause and reflect.
Because this isn’t just a party. This is a homegoing. And for DJ Crazy Caz, it has to be the biggest one this town has ever seen.

🎤 A Legacy Bigger Than the Booth
“Sometimes you grow so much, your wings outstretch the city you’re from—you can’t even move without brushing up against someone, and they take it personally. But when you get somewhere new, like here in ATL... it feels like home again. You bring that same energy, but now it’s finally got room to breathe.”— DJ Crazy Caz, MSU Black Alumni Picnic, 2010. That quote—unscripted, soulful, and poetic—encapsulates Caz’s journey. He had the kind of spirit that outgrew boundaries. And yet, no matter how far he flew, Lansing was always home.
🗣️ Community Reflections
