LANSING, Mich. [October 25, 2023]— LCC’s Performing Arts Theatre Program presents Sense and Sensibility by Kate Hamill, based on the novel by Jane Austen. This playful new adaptation of Austen’s beloved novel follows the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the Dashwood sisters – sensible Elinor and hypersensitive Marianne – after their father’s sudden death leaves them financially destitute and socially vulnerable.

While this fresh new take on Austen’s novel stays true to the story, LCC Theatre faculty and director Mary Job, warns, “This isn’t your grandmother’s Jane Austen!” Even after more than 200 years since its publication, Sense and Sensibility remains one of the most popular of Austen’s novels.
