Former Longview High School and Baylor University football star JaMycal Hasty will be returning to the place where he learned many of the athletic and social skills that have contributed to his success, the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Pines.

The current running back and special teams ace with the San Francisco 49ers will be making an appearance there to talk with and encourage club goers from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, June 21st. The club is located at 610 Garfield drive in Longview, Texas.

Hasty was an all-state running back for the Lobos from 2012-2015. He then went on to play for Baylor, finishing his college career in 2019 with nearly 2,000 total yards rushing and graduating with a degree in Health, Kinesiology and Leisure Studies.

He’s been a 49er since signing with the NFL team in 2020.

Hasty is planning to talk with young folks at the Boys and Girls club about ways they can overcome tough current circumstances to achieve their dreams through focus, hard work, humility, and perseverance.

JaMycal is among an impressive of list distinguished Boys and Girls club alumni – including NFL stars and Hall of Famers like tight ends Tony Gonzales, and Dallas Cowboy Jason Whitten; NBA stars such as Shaquille O’Neal; Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard; and entertainers like actor Denzel Washington, and singers Jennifer Lopez, and Trey Songz.

More than 4-million young people in all 50 states participate in programs at the 4,000 Boys and Girls clubs across America.

For more than a dozen years in a row, the organization has been ranked #1 among youth organizations by the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
