Quality Dairy and LAFCU cut cow print ribbon to celebrate new ATM partnership, shared history

Quality Dairy and LAFCU co-hosted a ribbon-cutting Sept. 12 to celebrate the newly available LAFCU ATMs in all Quality Dairy stores. Jesse Martin, Phil Platte, Kelli Ellsworth Etchison, LAFF-E, Ken Martin, Patrick Spyke, Tim Daman, Angela Ruzinsky and Morgan Pray cut a cow print ribbon to honor QD and LAFCU’s shared 86-year and cow history.

LANSING, Mich. – LAFCU and Quality Dairy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 12 to celebrate the newly available LAFCU ATMs in all 27 Quality Dairy stores.

“I don’t think you could write a better storyline about these two businesses coming together,” said Ken Martin, Quality Dairy CEO. “Given that both Quality Dairy and LAFCU were founded in 1936 with the same aspiration of customer service, being unique and agile and, if you can believe it, a common cow history. We’re extremely excited about this partnership and can’t thank the LAFCU staff enough for all their hard work during this transition.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the Quality Dairy store located at 5010 Dunckel Road, Lansing, as part of one of the three ‘Spot the Savings’ events held the week of Sept. 12, providing exclusive offers to Quality Dairy customers and LAFCU members.

The events, all free and open to the public, featured a cash grab machine filled with $500 and $4 off QD cider for individuals who used an in-store ATM, giveaways and complimentary cookies. Appearances were also made by LAFCU’s mascot, LAFF-E the Cow and a ginormous QD cow.

“LAFCU and Quality Dairy are unique in that we’re both always willing to come to the table and try something new,” said Kelli Ellsworth Etchison, LAFCU chief marketing officer and chief diversity officer. “As we continue on this journey, I’m excited to try new things as part of this partnership for the benefit of our customers and members.”

As part of the partnership, Quality Dairy loyalty cards for LAFCU members will continue to be available to ease pain at the pump, offering a 5-cent per gallon discount on gasoline at seven QD locations where fuel is sold. The loyalty cards are available at any LAFCU branch and qualify LAFCU members for in-store savings on QD products as well as the gasoline discount.

“The people of mid-Michigan have access to QD discounts and savings, and LAFCU members have more access than ever to our ATMs," said Patrick Spyke, CEO, LAFCU. “This partnership is a win-win for everyone involved.”
