U.S. Senator Gary Peters Endorses Andy Schor for Mayor

LANSING, Mich. - Mayor Andy Schor’s campaign announced today that U.S. Senator Gary Peters has endorsed him in his reelection bid for Mayor of Lansing. Peters, a dedicated public servant, has served as Michigan’s U.S. Senator since 2015. He previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives, as Michigan’s Lottery Commissioner, and as a state Senator.

He’s a great Mayor, and an even better person. When I served in the State Senate, Andy worked in my office as my Legislative Director. He has always stood up for what is right and has focused on the real issues Lansing residents face everyday. Andy is standing up for workers' rights and is investing in civil services and public safety for Lansing. I have full confidence in him to continue this great work and leadership into the next four years.”

Since Mayor Schor’s reelection announcement on February 4th, 2025, his campaign has knocked over 2,500 doors and received several key endorsements, including Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, State Senator Sam Singh, and many other state, local, and community partners.
