EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community organizations and members of Isaiah Kirby’s family are inviting the public to a town hall Thursday, Oct. 8, focused on the April 2026 police shooting death of Isaiah Christopher Kirby. The event is scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Edgewood United Church, 469 N. Hagadorn Road in East Lansing.

The town hall is being presented by the Edgewood Racial Justice Task Force, Coalition for Justice and Lansing NAACP. Organizers say the gathering is intended to give community members an opportunity to hear from the family and continue asking questions about the case. Because the event concerns an ongoing and sensitive matter, The Chronicle News will treat statements made by organizers, family members, law-enforcement officials and other parties as attributed claims and will seek independent confirmation where appropriate.
