Real leadership doesn’t always start with a title.

Sometimes it starts with paying attention.

For Erica Lynn, her work has always been rooted in community, long before it had a name.

With over 22 years in public health, Erica has dedicated her career to understanding how environment, access, and lived experiences shape people’s well-being. As Founder of The Village Lansing, Vice President of the Lansing Empowerment Network, and co-host of the podcast Merica 20 to Life, her work lives at the intersection of advocacy, health, and community engagement.

Inspired by her family, her culture, and her lived experience as a proud Chicana woman, Erica’s work is deeply personal. It is about representation, equity, and ensuring that voices often overlooked are brought into the conversations that shape our communities.

Through her leadership, she has helped address critical issues, including community violence, by focusing not just on symptoms, but on root causes.

Her message is clear: women are not defined by titles. Their power lies in how they show up, for themselves and for others.

Because leadership is not about being seen.

It’s about showing up… again and again.

Inspiring Quote:

“Your value isn’t tied to a title or role. It comes from who you are and how you show up for yourself and your community.”
