Julie DeRose is a dedicated community supporter, small business owner, and advocate for fiscal responsibility and transparent government. She has lived in DeWitt with her husband, Joe, and their daughter, Elaina, for more than 25 years. With a Master’s in Public Administration and a diverse professional background spanning state government, criminal justice, education, real estate, and insurance, Julie brings a well‑rounded, practical perspective to the challenges facing Michigan.

Julie believes a strong economy begins with a skilled and motivated workforce. As an Adult Education Director and through her work in state government, she has helped thousands of individuals gain the tools they need to improve their lives, support their families, and strengthen their communities.

Her platform focuses on three core priorities:

Economic Opportunity:

Supporting small business growth and expanding access to vocational training, job‑readiness programs, and education systems that lead directly to student employment and long‑term success.

Fiscal Accountability:

Ensuring taxpayer dollars are managed with transparency, integrity, and a commitment to responsible budgeting.

Community Strength:

Drawing on her professional experience and years of volunteer service, Julie is committed to advocating for the values that make District 28 a safe, healthy, and thriving place for all residents.

Julie is ready to bring her experience as a collaborative leader, strategic problem‑solver, and advocate for common‑sense solutions to Michigan’s State Senate.
